Feel Your Faith Grow

How hard is it for us to always do what is right? I know it has been a struggle for me for a long time. If somebody treated me badly I wanted to treat them the same way or sometimes I didn't feel like I needed to help someone because they had never helped me before. What if that was the way God thought? What if he turned his back on us ever time we turned our backs on him or didn't feel like helping us? It's sobering to think of.

I don't always feel like doing the right thing and I know you don't either. That's where the problem lies. Our feelings get in the way! We need to replace our feelings with faith. Faith that God is going to help us in our times of need or give us strength to do the right thing. Instead maybe we feel abandoned by God rather than have faith that he will bring us through our season of suffering or that he won't give us the strength we need.

What if Moses' feelings had got in the way of his faith? Mankind wouldn't exist! God gave Moses a daunting task that probably felt silly and incomprehensible, but he had faith that God would guide him and when everyone else was making fun of him and calling him crazy, he kept his faith in God and the mission that had been assigned to him. Moses didn't let his feelings of what others thought about him get in the way of his faith and we shouldn't either. Make your faith bigger than your feelings! God doesn't want us to do the right thing because he feels like it. He wants is to have faith in him that he is leading us down the right path.
