Put Your Heart In to It

Today has been a tough one, mentally, physically, emotionally. It is wild to me how different I can feel or how quickly things can change from day to day. If it was not for my recommitment to Christ and my family I truly do not even want to begin to think of where I would be. I can't even remember what use to get me through the day. Now it is prayer.

I know I have talked about how powerful prayer is before, but I can't mention it enough. In 1Thessalonians 5:17 it says, "Pray without ceasing." I interpret that to mean you should be praying during every moment in your life. Pray when you are strong, pray when you are weak, when something good happens, and when something bad happens to you. Many times we pray because we want or need something, not because we just want to have a conversation with God.

Prayer is a defining part of your relationship with Christ. That is how you talk to Him. When I use to pray it would just be empty promises to God about how I would change and this time it would be different. Praying now has taken on a whole new meaning for me. I feel like what I have to keep telling myself because sometimes I do not always know exactly what to say is, it is not about the words. He is not as concerned with what I am saying because He already knows my thoughts and desires. God is more concerned with the value of my heart.
