Pieces
I think we take something from each person we meet and have a connection with in life and it makes up who we are as humans. I fortunately have come in contact with many great people along my path through life.
I will never forget the day I met the man who was going to marry us. He was so calm, kind, and personable. It felt like I was talking to family. We could have got married at his dining room table and it would have been completely fine with me. His wife though, she knocked me off of my feet. I felt like I had known her my entire life. She is one of the most genuine people I have ever met and that is so unbelievably refreshing these days! She was kind enough to give us a tour of their home. We walked in to this one room and I immediately fell in love. It was a war room. She said it without skipping a beat. I had never met anyone before with a war room, but it was amazing. The room was perfect. It had a huge oversized chair that you could curl up in, it was tranquil, and it felt like home. I honestly didn't want to leave it or them. As soon as I got home I told my parents about her war room and how beautiful it was. Luckily, I still get to talk to them and see them occasionally, but the room. I still can't get over the room.
To give you some back story, a war room is a room that you have with no interruptions where you go to pray and pray fervently. It is also a movie that I highly recommend if you have never seen it! I should probably take our "office" and make it in to a war room, but for now I actually sit in our bathtub. I grab a pillow or two and blanket, get in our tub and pray or play music. I have lists made of everyone I pray for with notes jotted down the page of what exactly I'm praying for. How many of us take the time to be alone with God? I'll the first one to raise my hand ✋ and say I'm completely new to it, but I'm wondering why I hadn't taken the time to truly be alone with Him before? Sure I prayed to God, but I didn't have a quiet place where I could go to just talk to Him and pray with meaning. I know He hears our prayers no matter where we are or what we are doing. Quiet time with Him though, gets rid of all other distractions in life that tend to take our focus away Him.
My dream is to one day have a war room where anyone in my family can go to have peace and quiet time with God and pray. Another dream is that the woman whose war room I fell in love with would come help me decorate mine to look as serene as hers did that day. My last dream is to be as unafraid as she was when she told us what kind of room it was. She was proud to say it. I want to think I would be that proud too. Unafraid of what we would think and that is my piece of her that I carry with me. I strive to be unafraid to tell people about God.
